St. John the Baptist has a wonderful tradition of athletic excellence in addition
to its strong mission in catholic education and on-going academic performance. Students can participate in athletics in a number of ways at St. John the Baptist. Whether through on-going Physical Education classes by grade level, in intramural prepartory programs or on many grade level sport teams. Many of our student teams have performed
like champions as recognized on our Wall of Fame.
Schedules for CYO competitions will be available as soon as the seasons begin.
When they are available, we'll post them here. For more informations on schedules,
please visit the CYO web site by clicking here.

throughout the season are progressing by visiting the CYO web site.
Did you know that the St. John the Baptist Trojans were not always the Trojans? In fact, the Trojans did not become the team mascot until well after the 1930's. Do you know what St. John's athletic teams were called before they became the
Trojans? Give up? Click here for a little bit of history
Of course, St. John the Baptist Trojan teams continue to make history today. In 2009, Trojan teams won three championships. The 5th and 8th Grade Girls Volleyball
teams as well as the 5th Grade Boys Volleyball teams won diocesan championships. St. John Trojan teams competed in Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country and
Soccer. Here's another pop quiz question. Do you think those are the only sports St.
John teams have ever competed in? Click here for some more history.
WALL OF FAME
We'll have lots of events scheduled during the course of the school year. Not
to mention the start of practice for volleyball late in the summer before school
begins. Among the many activities, there are the traditional Blue and Gold matches
to kick off sport seasons, along with intramurals for our elementary grade level
students to try out and build their skills in a variety of sports.
The intramural program offers 1st through 4th graders the opportunity to learn
the basics of volleyball, soccer and basketball. Our junior athletes are offered
instructions based upon their grade and skill levels in a fun environment. The
program is held on Saturday mornings. 1st and 2nd grade session is 8:00 – 9:00
and the 3rd and 4th grade session is 9:00 – 10:00. The cost is $35.00 with a
uniform and $25.00 if the student already has a uniform.
